Frequently Asked Questions
Individual: Top 3 male and female overall. Age Group: 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, standard 5 year age groups thereafter (20-24, 25-29, etc.). Series: Overall series award for participants who swim in all four swims.
Individual entry: $75.00, Series entry: $240.00. Deadline for series entry is June 5th.
Swim goggles, mask type goggles, dive masks and snorkels are allowed. No fins, hand paddles, or full-face snorkel masks. Swim buoy floatation devices are OK, but they should be tethered close to your body so they do not interfere with fellow swimmers.
To ensure fair competition for everyone, personal escorts are not allowed.
Parking is available at Sunset Beach Park, Ehukai Beach Park, and Waimea Bay Beach Park for free. Space is limited. You are encouraged to arrive early and carpool when possible. Overflow parking is also available at Waimea Valley ($20 beach access parking) and the St. Peter & Paul Church (donation).
Race day entries will be available from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. Race Day entry fee is $90.00. Cash, check, or Venmo is accepted. Note: The Chun's to Waimea swim will close late entries by 8:00 am in order to get swimmers to the start on time.
There are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals for any reason. This includes but is not limited to illness, injury, inability to attend, or event cancellation due to weather. While we make every effort to accommodate participants, the costs to produce the events are incurred months in advance. Participant safety is our top priority and you agree to this risk when registering. Mahalo for your understanding.
One swim cap will be provided to you for use throughout the series. If you are doing an individual race, a swim cap will be provided to you. Swim caps are REQUIRED for safety. You may use your own cap but make sure it is brightly colored and visible on the water.
Two on-land clinics will be held on May 30th and June 7th, 2026 at Ala Moana Beach Park (behind lifeguard tower 1E) from 10:00am-10:30am. We will cover safety, what to expect on race day, course overview, helpful tips, and Q&A.
Men: 'Speedo' style briefs or jammers (waist to knee). Women: One or two-piece shoulder to knee swimsuits (must not cover the shoulder). M & W: rash guards, leggings, full body lycra suits for sun protection are OK if they do not provide floatation. No tri-suits, speedsuits, neoprene suits, or materials that add buoyancy are allowed.
T-shirts will be handed out to pre-registered swimmers during check-in (Note: except the Aloha Salads Summer Sprint. Shirts will be given out after the race at Ehuaki Beach Park). Day of race registrants can pick up their T-shirt after the race while supplies last (T-shirt is not guaranteed for late entries but we do our best to make sure everyone is able to get a shirt!).
Each race does have a time limit. While we aim to ensure every swimmer is able to finish the race, Water Patrol has the authority to pull a swimmer if they are not making sufficient progress. Please visit our Races page for the respective time limits.
As of April 11th, 2026 Kamehameha Hwy at Waimea Bay will remain single lane for the next 3-4 months (750 foot section of the roadway). Traffic in both directions will be maintained by alternating vehicles (contraflow) with flaggers. PLAN AHEAD, ARRIVE EARLY, CARPOOL if possible.
