Plan Ahead When Traveling to Waimea Bay This Summer

As of April 11th, 2026 Kamehameha Hwy at Waimea Bay will remain single lane for the next 3-4 months (750 foot section of the roadway). Traffic in both directions will be maintained by alternating vehicles (contraflow) with flaggers. PLAN AHEAD, ARRIVE EARLY, CARPOOL if possible.

As a reminder: Check-in and race day registration: 7:00am to 8:30am. Race starts: 9:00am.

Common carpool meetup locations: Central Honolulu/Waikiki: Ala Moana Beach Park. Pearl City/Aiea: Keonohi District Park. Kailua: Kailua District Park. West/Central Oahu: Mililani District Park.

Typical travel time from Waikiki is ~50-60 minutes. Plan an additional 10-25 minutes for the single lane traffic plus an additional 15 minutes to park and get to the beach.

Upcoming Swim Clinics Announced

We will be holding two swim clinics leading up to the kick-off of the 2026 North Shore Swim Series. The first will be held on Saturday, May 30th and the second will take place on Sunday, June 7th. Both clinics will be at Ala Moana Beach Park (behind lifeguard tower 1E) from 10:00am to 10:30am.
